Beckhoff Automation's BK7500 Bus Coupler couples the industry's most successful networked modular I/O system, the Beckhoff Bus Terminal, to the industry's leading digital drive network. Up to 64 I/O modules can be connected to the SERCOS interface bus coupler to interface as many as 254 digital, analog and various specialty field devices to the SERCOS interface ring system. Data transfer rates of 2, 4, 8 and 16MBaud are selectable via a configuration switch on the bus coupler.

By placing the I/O on SERCOS interface, rather than another device-level fieldbus system, machinery builders can utilize just one network for their control system, for a more cost effective solution.
