Kinetix™ 6000 Multi-Axis Servo Drive

Kinetix 6000

The new Kinetix™ 6000 multi-axis servo drive combines advanced control capability with innovative design features to significantly improve system performance while saving time and money. Designed to make wiring, programming, operation and diagnostics faster and easier, the Kinetix 6000 can decrease OEM engineering and installation time while adding flexibility for demanding motion applications. In addition, the Kinetix 6000 features a compact size to allow convenient placement in machinery. The smaller module size, combined with other space-saving design features, result in drive enclosures that are up to 50 percent smaller than those required for competing drives. And, Kinetix 6000 effectively meets worldwide motion control needs by handling all global voltage requirements.

Key Benefits of the Kinetix 6000 Include:

The compact size saves money with significant space savings that translate into more flexibility for machine design and more production in the same amount of floor space.

Advanced control capabilities provide greater precision and throughput. Kinetix 6000 offers impressive velocity bandwidth greater than 400 Hz and a current loop bandwidth greater than 1300 Hz, double the performance of similar products.

A simple modular design lowers wiring time and related costs by greatly reducing the total number of connections.

A SERCOS interface™ provides seamless integration into the ControlLogix platform for multi-axis integrated motion (Kinetix). RSLogix 5000 is the only software program required for both sequential and motion control.

With the SERCOS interface, a single fiber optic ring serves as the sole interface between control and drive, eliminating up to 18 discrete wires per axis.

One simple Power Rail serves as a unique mounting and connecting system. Modules are easily mounted to the Power Rail, making design and installation fast and easy. The Power Rail replaces power wiring, logic control wiring and other complex cables.

An optional Line Interface Module provides a compact, cost-effective way to deal with the additional components required for a motion control system. The Line Interface Module provides: circuit breakers, CE filters, safety contactor, 24V motor brake power, 24V DC for input/output power, 220V AC logic control power production and all the connection wiring needed. Install one easy-to-use module instead of separate complicated components and eliminate up to 72 wire terminations.

All connectors are removable and conveniently top- or front-mounted.

Kinetix 6000 is designed to work with a wide range of motors with various feedback options to provide the ideal combination of performance and cost-effectiveness for your application.

To eliminate costly and time-consuming machine homing cycles, the Kinetix 6000 has built-in support for multi-turn absolute encoders to maintain position during power loss.

Kinetix 6000 Drive Features:

At the drive, three LEDs and a 7-segment display provide axis and fault status information.

Modules feature shallow depth. 230V unit is just 195mm (7.7") deep. 460V unit is just 260mm (10.2") deep.

Power Rail is available in various sizes to accommodate 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 axes.

Six inputs: 2 registration inputs, 1 home input, 2 overtravel inputs, 1 axis enable input.

CE compliance and UL listed to U.S. and Canadian safety standards.
