Danaher Motion -- G&L Motion Control, Inc. Introduces 1 to
16 Axes MMC-S16™
Danaher Motion -- G&L Motion Control, Inc. announces the addition of a new member to its MMC -- Machine & Motion Control family of industrial motion controls. The new MMC-S16 offers both motion and machine control in a single, compact unit for applications requiring 1 to 16 axes of SERCOS digitally interfaced motion control.
"The combination of the MMC control’s simplicity of application, ease of installation and affordability is unprecedented in the SERCOS motion control market," according to Joe Martin, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "The MMC provides all of the benefits of the SERCOS fiber optic digital interface with the simplicity of motion control using IEC1131 function block programming. Solving the entire machine and motion control application in a fully-integrated environment makes applications much easier to develop and maintain," adds Martin.
Programming of the MMC control is performed using PiCPro™ for Windows -- MMC Edition, which provides IEC1131-3 standard function block programming for motion and ladder logic programming for machine control. Single-point programming for both motion control and machine logic greatly simplifies application and maintenance of MMC controlled machinery. Software features such as on-line edit of the motion as well as logic program and the ability to remotely program and troubleshoot via the Internet simplify both development and maintenance of MMC applications.
Applications which outgrow the MMC's integral sixteen 24V DC inputs and sixteen 24V DC outputs can easily be expanded using serially distributed Danaher Motion -- G&L Motion Control, Inc. Block I/O. Up to seventy-seven I/O blocks can be interfaced to the MMC using a simple four-wire connection. Alternatively, the optional fieldbus interface allows the MMC to act as a DeviceNet® master providing applications access to the full range of DeviceNet compatible products. The optional Ethernet TCP/IP interface allows integration of HMI and SCADA packages using an OPC 2.0 (OLE for Process Control) Server. Also supported are TFTP file transfer and SMTP electronic mail.
The MMC includes a 2, 4, 8 and 16 megahertz SERCOS interface, sixteen 24V DC general purpose inputs and sixteen 24V DC general purpose outputs. Off-the-shelf cable sets used to interface the MMC with Danaher Motion’s Kollmorgen servo amplifiers reduce installation of the MMC to a simple plug-and-play process.
The MMC control is designed for worldwide application and features UL and cUL listing, CE marking, as well as EMC and LVD compliance.
