SERCOS I and II Standard
The official SERCOS interface Standard, Edition 2.0, is issued by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).
The document number for the 543-page standard is IEC 61491. The formal title is "Electrical equipment of industrial machines -- serial data link for real-time communication between controls and drives."
You can order the standard both by phone and by email using a credit card. Be sure to request the document either by number or the official title above. This standard won’t be found in a search for terminology "SERCOS" or "SERCOS interface."

an updated specification from the SERCOS member organizations. This document is prepared by the SERCOS Technical Working Groups and is the document upon which the any future edition of the IEC standard will be based.
It is presently more up to date than the official standard.
SERCOS III Specification
SERCOS III is now undergoing the official standardization process within the IEC. In December 2004, the SERCOS III specification was completed and delivered to the IEC as a Publicly Available Specification (PAS). This step was required for inclusion in the new IEC Real-time Ethernet standard (IEC 61784/61158 series), planned for 2007.
The approved PAS (number 62410) can be purchased from several organizations. It is titled “REAL-TIME ETHERNET SERCOS III). Search for PAS 62410 (or SERCOS) and purchase online.
